About the journal

Polaris Neurosurgery publishes clinical research, reviews, surgical technique and instructive cases in neurosurgery. Every research article is reviewed double-blind by at least two specialists, and every article is free to read and reuse under CC BY 4.0.

The journal is published by NeurosurgeonWorld, the publishing platform of BVS Doctors LTD. It follows the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Section 6

History of Neurosurgery

This section studies how neurosurgery and its forerunners developed across the Turkic world and the lands of the Ottoman heritage — from Central Asia and Anatolia to the Balkans, the Middle East and North Africa, including Libya.

It publishes historical articles and short historical vignettes on people, institutions, manuscripts, instruments and operations. Historical papers are reviewed in the same way as every other article and must cite their primary sources.
